Press Release - Industrial Production Index June 2012


The seasonally adjusted Index of Industrial Production with base 2000 = 100, registered an increase of 3.6% over the previous month.
The Industrial Production Index as compared to June 2011 decreased by -1,9%, partially mitigated by the fact that in June 2012 included a working day less than in June 2011.
The data of June 2012, compared with the previous month, have increased more in the following economic sectors:
• “Manufacture of pulp, paper and aperboard and paper products” +6,3%,
• “Manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment” +5,8%,
• “Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers” +5,7%,
The most important decreases related to the following areas:
• “Manufacture of electrical machinery and apparatus” ‐13,9%,
• “Publishing, printing and reproduction of recorded media” ‐10,4%,
• “Manufacture of mineral processing” ‐4,9%,
The data of June 2012, compared with the same month of the previous month, have increased more in the following economic sectors:
• “Wood and wood products and cork, except furniture, manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials” +24,9%,
• “Manufacture of machinery and equipment” +8,1%,
• “Manufacture of chemical and man‐made fibers” +8,0%.
Decreases were seen in the following activities:
• “Publishing, printing and reproduction of recorded media” ‐17,3%.
• “Manufacture of mineral products processing” ‐9,3%,
